Kumho now has seven patterns on TyreVault, and one of them, the Ennov Sport VS73, comes from the South Korean maker's dedicated electric-vehicle range. This article explains what that EV line is, where the rest of the Kumho range fits, and which pattern suits your car or SUV.
Kumho has been making tyres in South Korea since 1960, and its home base is the city of Gwangju. Over the past few years the brand has pushed harder into tyres for electric cars and larger SUVs, and both moves show up in what we carry.
What is new: Kumho's EnnoV electric-vehicle range
In 2024 Kumho launched EnnoV, a family of tyres designed specifically for electric vehicles. It was not the brand's first attempt at an EV tyre. Kumho's earlier EV-specific tyre, the Wattrun, dates back to 2013, so EnnoV builds on more than a decade of that work rather than being a one-off.
Why does an EV need its own tyre? Electric cars are heavier than petrol cars of the same size because of the battery pack, they deliver full torque from a standstill, and without engine noise you hear far more tyre roar inside the cabin. A tyre built for that job has to carry more weight, resist wear under instant torque and keep noise down, while still rolling efficiently so you do not lose range.
The Ennov Sport VS73 is the EnnoV pattern we list. We carry it in 18-inch sizes, 215/50R18 and 215/55R18, which line up with a number of compact electric SUVs and hatchbacks. It also fits petrol and hybrid cars on the same size; you do not need an EV to run an EV-designed tyre.
A practical tip if you do drive an electric car: keep a closer eye on tyre pressures and tread depth than you might have with a petrol car. The extra weight and the instant shove off the line both put more work through the tyres, so uneven wear can creep up faster than you expect. Checking pressures monthly, rotating front to rear at each service and having the wheel alignment checked when you replace tyres will help any set, EV-designed or not, go the distance.

The naming is easier to follow once you know the families. Ecowing and Solus are Kumho's touring lines for comfortable everyday driving, Ecsta is its performance badge, Crugen covers SUVs and 4WDs, and EnnoV is the electric-vehicle line. Within those families the two Solus patterns we list cover smaller and older cars on 14-inch wheels and a comfort-focused 17-inch sedan size, while the Ecsta HS81 sits a step below the PS71 for drivers who want sharper steering on a hatch or sedan without going to a full ultra-high-performance tyre.
Ecowing ES33: the everyday workhorse
If you drive a small hatch or a mid-size sedan, the Ecowing ES33 is likely the Kumho you need. It is the broadest pattern in our Kumho range, covering 17 sizes from 14 to 19 inches. It is a touring tyre, which means the focus is on a comfortable, quiet ride and steady wear over a long life rather than track-day grip. One of the most common sizes on Australian small cars is 205/55R16; you can search 205/55R16 tyres to compare it with other brands side by side.
Ecsta PS71: when handling matters
The Ecsta PS71 is Kumho's ultra-high-performance summer tyre. Its tread compound uses a highly dispersed micro-silica, a rubber blend designed to keep grip consistent on both wet and dry roads and to help with braking, while also wearing well. That makes it a good match for performance sedans, warm hatches and prestige cars on 18 and 19-inch wheels. In Australia, "summer" simply means it is designed for warm conditions and normal rain rather than snow, so it suits the vast majority of drivers year-round.
Crugen Premium KL33 and the Crugen SUV family
Kumho's SUV and 4WD tyres carry the Crugen name, and that family made news in 2025 when Kia picked a Crugen tyre, the HT51, as original equipment on its new Tasman ute, including most of the Australian variants. The HT51 is a ute tyre and not part of our TyreVault range, but the same family includes the Crugen Premium KL33, which we do list.
The KL33 is a road-going SUV tyre for crossovers and family wagons, tuned for a quiet cabin and a comfortable ride. We carry it in three 18-inch sizes, including a reinforced extra-load 235/60R18 for heavier SUVs.
